In charge of applying security updates to customer firewalls and file servers.
Customer firewall installation and initial configuration.
Administrator for AMANDA backup software, both internally and at customer sites.
Was interviewed as a Backup Administrator in an article for Twin Cities Buisness Monthly.

Introduced Linux to the environment.

Replaced aging Windows servers with Linux and SAMBA.
Set up Linux FTP servers for data transfers with the University of Minnesota.
Managed Windows-based statistical data-processing system (replacing main fileserver with Linux/SAMBA).
Managed Wildcat BBS system for Field Representative data transfers.

Did Y2K testing, troubleshooting, and resolution.
Administrated Xerox 4850 industrial laser printer; scheduling repairs and maintenance, buying supplies, doing basic troubleshooting, applying document updates.
Administrated web server; converting newsletter documents to HTML, writing documents explaining our reports, supervising creation of web pages advertising our services.
Set up VNC for remote computer management. Later gave presentation on the subject at a Twin Cities Systems Administrators meeting.
