Real Time Enterprises Announces Recent Radio Interview

Real Time's Director Interviewed by Radio Reporter

March 7, 2003: Dennis Jensen, Director of Sales & Marketing at Real Time Enterprises was interviewed on WCCO Radio about the growing concerns surrounding unwanted email or Spam.

Dennis confirmed that recent research studies predict that Spam messages will outnumber normal email before the end of the year. With most people already frustrated with unwanted email now, the situation isn't going to get better.

Many people don't understand how their email addresses ended up being targeted for Spam. Dennis confirmed there are well over a dozen ways spammers can harvest email addresses.... ranging from using software to search the web for any text fitting the format for an email address to generating vast quantities of email for each domain and then filtering out the rejections.

There is some hope for home users and businesses. Anti-Spam Software is a big business and there are applications for all of the major platforms (Linux, Windows, MAC, Unix and Novell). Real Time takes advantage of Open Source Anti-Spam Software like SpamAssassin for the mail servers the company configures for customers. Politicians are also trying to find a solution. Legislation has already been passed to prohibit some types of Spam from being sent to Minnesota residents from mail servers based in Minnesota and Dennis believes that additional legislation is probably being considered.
